Thanks Kent. That is an interesting article. I am finding that I am reverting to more basics on the bike, though I realized today on my 14K commute that sandals are not stiff enough with platform pedals and power grips.

Too bad more big companies don't put out a Randonneur style bike that is so simple and versatile it can be ridden on gravel or paved roads, light trails, long or short distances, loaded or unloaded. But that doesn't make money now does it.
