Just a spot to dump various bicycle related thoughts
Wow. Sounds like a great trip. And a good reminder that the best bike tours are sometimes in our own backyards. Thanks.
how beautiful! Thanks for sharing
sounds like a great trip.so what's the route to get out there?
Matt M,The Green Trails Map # 174 (Mount Si) shows all the logging roads. Basically you go up to Lake Hancock and then do a heck of a lot of climbing. The Green Trails Map 206S (Side A of Mount Si NRCA) has some finer detail of the area around SMC, Nadeau and Moolock lakes.Kent
good times, kent! thanks for the story. -- patrick
Every time I read about someone else's S24O I wish I was doing one instead of just reading about it. I think I'll do one... just as soon as my lungs get clear of this bacterial infection that has me coughing and gasping like a guy with emphysema & asbestosis all at once... your trip sounds fun. I think I'll be solo b/c I have no other bikey friends, but solo time is good too.
Enough good air and good scenery to support First and Second breakfast. Now that's living.
It sounds like it was a fun trip.
Hi Kent,Thanks for posting this, we road this route out and back from North Bend yesterday. Talk about beautiful! Moolock still has a little snow, but it is thawing out fast. Right around the lake it is just very wet. We did see a large bear on the way down. That's always exciting. Then we ran into a woman driving a search and rescue vehicle who was concerned that we were even out there in "Very Beary Country". I guess everyone picks their own fears to focus on. That road has some very steep pitches. I was both glad and sad that I didn't have any overnight gear with me.Thanks!Nick V
Incredible -- looks like a great trip. I love the photos, too.
