Morgan Hauls

Morgan stopped by the shop today with a broken shift cable. She was hauling a bit of stuff, so rather than bring her rig into the shop, I wound up replacing the cable out where she'd parked.

If you look carefully, you'll see that Morgan's load includes both an XtraCycle and a Surly Big Dummy. And a tandem, a couple of regular bikes, a trailer, a recumbent trail-a-bike, a potted plant and gosh-knows what else!

Wow! Why was she hauling all of that "stuff"?

I think she was coming back from a bike expo (or maybe Tour DeFat). It's part of her Bike Ambassador gig, showing off all the hauling options that are out there. She just hauls them all at once!

Impressive doesn't even begin to describe it.

morgen is kewl. it looks the whole front part of the bike stears. i hope you aired up that front tire for her kent. what gear is she pushing. me thinks 1:1 ratio would be about rite for all that wieght. even lower for any upslope at all.

Any chance of seeing pics of that rig without a load on it?

The main part of Morgan's rig is this:

Very impressive.

She seems to be towing two sets of things side by side. Big dummy + trailer and in parallel, tandem + something. How were they able to not interfere with each other. I would have though especially the rearmost items would be in danger of bumping into one another.

Morgan is, indeed, one of the very best. Last I had heard, she was trying to sell the Organic Engines rig - I guess she has decided to embrace it instead! Val

Morgan was likely returning from the Family Bike Expo she coordinates a couple of times a year. The expo is a chance for cycling parents to swap tips and demonstrate (show off) the machines they use to handle their most precious cargo. Screaming, squirming children. The rearmost item in that amazing chain of bikes is a recumbent tricycle-style trail-a-bike type thing. totally cool! you get an occasional stoker and your kid still gets to sometimes zone out and maybe even flop over in their seat a bit. Watch the feet!
Anyway, cool photo of a cool cyclist doing cool stuff for cool reasons, Kent.
