Fairly early, like 8:30 or 9:00 PM. And on the sunday after one of these long days, I'm a real couch potato. On 1200K rides and can string together real short sleep breaks but on something like the GDR, I was getting 6 or 8 hours of sleep each night for most of it.
Sounds like a great ride. It has been a while since I have been on Highway 2, but I seem to remember large sections with no or very little shoulder. Am I remembering this wrong? Things always look different from a car at 60+ mph.
Most of Hwy 2 has shoulders that vary in width from pretty good to a bit on the snug side. There are a few places, like some bridges where it drops to nothing, but in general, it's pretty good. Also, some of the side roads including sections of the old road are really very pleasant and have almost no traffic.
Hey Kent, Coffee? Tomorrow? I'm off! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm doing the telecommute thing from Issaquah tomorrow AM. Do you want to meet up somewhere in Issaquah?

Randomly curious -- if you're up at 3am (and w/o an alarm, even), when did you turn in the night before? I'm decidedly NOT a morning person. ;)
