Not a Role Model?

Over the years I've commented that "I am not a nutritional role model." I even sell shirts featuring words to that effect. Today David, one of my SIR pals, sent me the link to this story:

David says that he's still holding out for a study of Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pies.

    I knew it. I knew it. First, chocolate milk, then will come a study on the relationship between peanut M&Ms and intelligence and, finally, science will show that Spam straight out of the can adds decades to a lifespan. Kent, you're 25 years ahead of your time.

  2. I was way ahead of the curve and didn't even know it until today. I always drink chocolate soy milk after long rides. I always feel like I recover better after drinking the soy milk then the times I drink sport drinks. I would wager that the soy milk is as good or better then regular cow's milk.

  3. That is what Helenita made me drink at the finish of my first century ride. It's a great recovery drink... although now I opt for the soy version :)

    Peanut M&M's? I know a guy who rode a single speed over 2,500 miles on Peanut M&M's.... what was his name? hmmm. It escapes me.

  4. Years ago either Bicycling or Road Bike Rider had a similar article, except the recipe was for milk with a Tbl of sugar or honey.

    Chocolate milk in disguise.

    Been drinkin' it ever since, post-ride!

  5. I said it before when I bought the "Any Distance" shirt, but it is so self evident, I really don't need to advertise by buying "role model" one. And I don't even drink chocolate milk.
