As a former engineer and mechanic I think this is an error that has been repeated until people believe it's true. I can't figure out where that assertion came from. If you read the original patent, Phillips described the "camming out" action, but it's about the screwdriver naturally removing debris caught in the head slot itself, not anything about torque limiting. <br />I'm pretty sure the difference between JIS and Phillips is just that the JIS was avoiding the Phillips patent, not because of a design difference about torque.JFlaminghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07796882649694492729noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18676999.post-91442180092906512592015-02-10T13:04:10.007-08:002015-02-10T13:04:10.007-08:00I did not know that (said in my best Johnny Carson...I did not know that (said in my best Johnny Carson) thanks for the tidbitRoadieRyanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15900109046198641775noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18676999.post-87750078144964194442015-02-10T05:20:41.089-08:002015-02-10T05:20:41.089-08:00Iron Rider,
